QUT is a great University, just make sure you find the course you really love. If you do then there will be all sorts of people in your course with the same interests as you.
Obtaining a place at QUT is fairly easy, you can get in very easily by doing a year of Arts to lift your GPA up. Make sure you dont waste your time either repeating subjects is not very fun!
Have a go at the scholarship system. If you are very good at a certain sport you might be able to try a sporting scholarship. The HEX system in Australia is great. You do not have to pay your University fees until you have secured yourself a full time job and are earning over a certain amount per year. Then you can begin to pay them off without any interest.
I really like this course I think that the Industrial Design tutors and lecturers really know what they are talking about. The Built Environment subjects are not very good though I do not like them very much. I find it very hard for myself to get started doing my work, once i do though its very easy to loose track of time and study for too long. In this course there are not many exams its mainly assignments.
Brisbane is a very easy city to live in. It may not be as exciting as other cities but it is an extreamly easy city to live in. I think that It may be a little hard to break into social groups here. Accomodation here may also be a little over priced because of the housing crisis in Brisbane.
